Frieza has visible and natural progression toward Frieza's defeat by using Frieza's frustration and battle damage as indicators. Jiren has Jiren completely calm and composed with a speck of battle damage until literally the last 4 minutes of the last episode.

The first person to give him any sort of visible damage is A17 RIP and all that did was tick him off. Jiren hasn't looked like he was struggling until literally the last 4 minutes of episode 129.Now maybe this is just me, but at some point, I lost hope that Goku would actually defeat Jiren solo. Jiren was so powerful, so beyond any individual character, I just assumed that it would require the entire team to take him down in a concentrated effort. I feel like this is what Jiren wanted as well, but that's another thread.

The jump from MUI to close that power gap comes off as unbelievable and forced as a result.I never thought that with Frieza. When Goku swooped in, there were times he outsmarted Frieza which would cause Frieza to up his power level. Goku was clearly frustrating the guy throughout the fight and, in the end, severely damaged him with the spirit bomb. The power jump he gets due to SSJ and eventual victory feels much more organic here.

It was an uphill battle. Goku versus Jiren is more like wandering through a maze, there's no way to tell what end the fight is heading for. If Toei was trying to reference one of the greatest fights in DB, they screwed the pooch.Agree or disagree?. I mean, Freeza himself was so powerful that he had to subconsciously contribute to his own defeat.Yeah the Z Fighters eventually got a hit on him with each transformation, but even if he was getting beaten, Freeza can just transform and literally reset the entire battle, coming out with no battle damage. From that moment in time, we already knew that everything is going to come down to a 'fresh' Freeza vs a fresh Goku.Freeza even had to stall for time by transforming into his Final Form, which gave them enough time to heal Piccolo and give Vegeta his power up. Otherwise Freeza could just pew pew everyone some more and no one would stop him.So if Goku fought 3rd Form Freeza and even get close to winning, Freeza could just transform and go 'lol start over' while Goku can't.

However, somehow he survives the blast and wakes up in a little village house. A purple-colored creature enters the room and introduces himself as Ipana. He also tells Bardock that he is on the Planet Plant ( 惑星プラント), which – as the confused Bardock recalls – was the former name of Planet Vegeta. Suddenly the village is attacked by henchmen of the pirate Chilled, whom Bardock easily defeats, earning him the gratitude of the villagers. At first he yells him to go away, but soon they form somewhat of a friendship as Berry keeps bringing him food.After a while, Chilled comes to find out what happened to his henchmen.

After the villagers fail to find Bardock, Chilled and his henchmen start attacking them and destroying the village. At first, Bardock refuses to save them, but after Berry begs him, he flies to the village and saves Ipana, who was going to be killed by Chilled. Due to the resemblance, Bardock at first mistakes Chilled for Frieza and attacks him angrily, but Chilled seems to have the upper hand. However, after Chilled fires an attack at Berry to warn him not to interfere, Bardock becomes angry and transforms into a Super Saiyan.

Chilled laughs and says that changing hair color to doesn't do anything and attacks Bardock with his blasts, which have no effect on Bardock anymore. He asks who he is, to which Bardock replies that he is just a Saiyan. Chilled launches a final desperate attack in order to destroy the planet, but Bardock's attack overpowers it and sends the mortally wounded Chilled into outer space. The dying Chilled tells his henchmen to warn his family about Super Saiyans.
